Hello, hello, it is Monday, February 3 and my month starts well, I was in my year I should say uh I was going to say it starts today. uh but you know the best laid plans of mice and men and all that uh something I say a lot. I think I overuse that phrase but um my what are we it's it's I'm recording this at just before 1 pm e Eastern time uh and my week well my day was thrown into disarray uh the moment I woke up because we uh had a two hour delay for school and so my day has been a disjointed mess. uh I took my youngest to daycare at the normal time because the roads were fine. uh and then I came home I had a meeting with someone who was a no show. They uh I don't really know why we had this meeting on our calendar anyway, but uh whatever. um and then I had to take my kids my my big kids to school at uh ten The coach and call originally had scheduled for ten I had at eleven I ate lunch and now I'm here right before a one o'clock. uh that looks short but might not be. uh and then at two thirty, I'm going to have to go pick my kids up from school and so this day has not gone at all according to plan. I still manage to get a newsletter out. um and I am considering a number of things. I was hoping today would be a big think day. um but it's not. Looks like Thursday maybe we'll be that day now. um but I was hoping today would be a big think day as I think about the type of content I'm creating the direction for streamline solopreneur and this podcast, Joe's audio notes. um I don't think I there's not a in like a big incentive, what's the best way for me to put this? I don't feel like there's a big incentive to join the mailing list based on this. So I've been I launched this in August. This show and, you know, admittedly I have not been um putting like maximum effort towards getting people onto this feed uh, but if I look at the subscribers, I'm I mean, I'm at 65 and somebody joined yesterday. So um you know, maybe I'm like, well, no, I'm not proving myself wrong because before yesterday, January seventh was the last time somebody joined, um and uh, you know, I I published two episodes since then. And so I don't, you know, it's it's probably it's it's not there's not a strong value proposition to just giving your email for a private podcast. And so I am wondering if these might just be good to put in the main streamlined soloreneur feed. If I go back to, I made I made a post like this in Jay Klaus's community. um let's see. I'm not super active here so uh perhaps I can quickly find this. Let's see four months ago, grow my mailing list with short form private podcasts. Okay, so goal, build my mailing list with a free but private podcast, secondarily prove that there are many ways to produce and grow a successful podcast. I suspect that part is true. I can grow my audience with a podcast where listening to that doesn't have high production value. I mean, I think that's true. I think these I think these episodes have been successful and there's been interest in them. I've been thinking about different formats, record, upload, uh content remains on the private feed for now, but I may record video with some form released to TikTok, you to promote the show. um yeah. So I mean like So I I just I wrote pre-S. I know I've been gone for a minute. Asterisks and then I wrote now I'm back with the jump off. Um God, I love a good pop culture reference. So so here's so here's why I feel conflicted about this. I want everybody on my mailing list to get these episodes but my transistor account only allows for I think 500 private podcast feeds or 500 private podcasts subscribers. And there's like 1700 plus people on my mailing list. um and like I kind of I kind of want to switch to captivate. I don't think I'm going to do that. I'm like, I'm really I I want to switch to rSS.com, right? I'm an rSS.com evangelist um and so I want to use their platform. I do think it's the best platform for most people. um I'm not doing dynamic ads anymore. I'm not going to make a hasty decision here but I'm like slowly convincing myself to do this um uh you know and I guess disclosure as uh as a RSS.com evangelist, I do get a free account. But even if I were to pay for um like hello audio that's fifteen bucks a month and then RSS.com is fifteen bucks a month for the network plan. That's still less than what I'm paying for a transistor, and I'm just like not super d duper convinced that I'm getting the value from transistor. uh for 49 or $50 a month so I really like transistor. I like the team over there. um you know part of the reason that I'm drawn to captivate is that on the the captivate plan I think would cost me nin a month and I'd get uh it's ninety dollars a month up to thirty thousand downloads per month which I think with the new way downloads or selected works. Otherwise it's 49. So it's like man this is why I really like RSS.com. They don't charge you for downloads. um anyway, I've been talking for seven oh shit and I have a meeting. um but that's the stuff I'm thinking of so here's what I want to know. Here's my ask for you uh are you getting a lot of value from this being a private podcast? Would you want to see it in the main feed of streamline soloreneur? Let me know at streamlined feedback.com. That's streamlined feedback dot com.
