This Show is Public Now!

I changed a lot of things.

So if you are listening to this, it is the first public episode of Joe's Audio Notes.

I wrote a bit about this over on StreamlinedPodcaster.com how I really struggled with whether or not I should make this show public and then similarly whether I should just add these episodes to Streamlined Solopreneur and make them like bonus episodes which would essentially having me publish way more frequently on that feed.

And ultimately I decided against it because episode numbers matter a lot to me.

So I really have put a lot of thought and time into how I number my episodes.

I spent a good bit of last year renumbering some episodes.

Well my VA did a lot of that work but you know we devised a plan where I wanted parity between the number of published episodes and then the episode number that corresponded with an episode.

So I would do a bunch of bonus episodes over the years and I wouldn't count them as properly canonical episode numbers.

And then in November I published a gift guide episode that I wanted to be a bonus but I wanted to be easy to find and I just thought this is dumb.

I shouldn't have bonus episodes.

Extra episodes outside of your normal publishing schedule are not necessarily bonus episodes.

A bonus episode would be like a feed drop right where you have someone else's show in your feed.

Or a bonus episode might be you know something that is paid and then you're making it free.

So I have decided that Streamline Solopreneur by and large will not have bonus episodes.

At least not until I hit 500 episodes which the way things are trending might be this year.

So I determined that if I added these voice notes to Streamline Solopreneur I wouldn't do them very often because I would do them in such a way that didn't mess up the pre-scheduled episode numbering.

And if that sounds silly to you it is a little bit.

But also my entire podcast system relies on the episode number.

Like a pre-determined episode number.

In this piece I write that for most people the episode number doesn't matter until the episode publishes.

J Klaus also does these voice notes and other podcasters also do these voice notes and their system is probably less reliant on on pre-determined episode numbers than mine are.

My system is also very hands-off.

So you know it's you gotta it felt like maybe six and one half a dozen than the other but it really felt like I should be tipping the scale towards not publishing these episodes in the Streamline Solopreneur feed because you know there are some weeks where I publish these almost daily and I didn't I didn't want the flow of these episodes to conflict with the flow of Streamline Solopreneur and like the expectations maybe that you know my my listeners on that show have.

Which you can go to Streamline.fm if you are interested in that.

So the other thing is that the the main piece of feedback I got when I and I should say that you can go back and listen you know the entire feed is public now.

So I think there are 32 published episodes and you they're all available.

I'm not starting from scratch here.

So anyway in a previous episode I thought about if I should make this public or not and I asked for feedback from my listeners and by and large the primary piece of feedback was hey I like that I get these via email.

And I couldn't necessarily I mean I without a high level of effort I couldn't just put this in the Streamline Solopreneur feed and then say only send the ones that are marked as voice notes right.

Whereas with ConvertKit or well Kit.com formerly ConvertKit you can connect an RSS feed and automatically send a daily email and they also have a transistor integration where I can send the latest episodes.

So this will actually be a test of that you should get you know people who have subscribed previously should be able to see the embed link in the email and if you're listening to this either you already saw it and clicked it or now you can go check.

If you're not subscribed you can go to notes.cacibona.org that's where this podcast lives and there's an opt-in at the bottom of that page.

So that's notes.cacibona.org.

But I moved a lot of things around and the other thing I want to say here the other reason I kind of like started this stream of consciousness episode is I'm also playing around with transistors network feature.

So if you go to network.streamlined.fm you'll see all three of my shows all in one place.

So you can make a podcast network website essentially.

And so I'm messing around with that I really like that idea of having one canonical place where I can send people for all of my shows and like a master feed essentially.

Not a master feed in the sense that you can subscribe to a singular RSS feed but a master feed in the sense that you could see kind of what I'm publishing and how often.

And that brings me to my last thought here the things I'm thinking about how I'm changing my online persona my online brand.

I just interviewed Holly Arnett and her episode will be coming out her two-part episode will be coming out next month.

Is I renamed podcast workflows to streamlines podcaster to fall in line with the rest of my brand.

And while I am publishing mostly on cacibona.org these days if I do have a podcast systems or podcast process specific piece it will get published on streamlined podcaster.com and then I have an automation that anytime I publish over on that site or a few other places it automatically becomes a blog post on cacibona.org.

So cacibona.org is still the single place for seeing all of my content.

I guess now this now that Joe's audio notes is public I can definitely do that as well.

So I just I changed I did a lot of stuff yesterday and I wanted to you know this is the place where I can ruminate on that and kind of share my more raw thoughts before I actually put them into something more cohesive.

So curious to know what you think about that or your thoughts or feelings.

If you were subscribed to the private feed let me know how you feel about it being public.

Again you should still be getting an email so I'd love to hear any or all of that.

If you're subscribed you can respond right to the email you got.

If you're not subscribed you can subscribe over at notes.cacibona.org and if you want to send in feedback without subscribing to my newsletter you can go to streamlinedfeedback.com.

So thanks so much for listening to this Joe's audio notes and until next time I'll see you out there
