It's an Idea Feast

It's an Idea Feast

It's been a while since I've done one of these. It's been a pretty busy few weeks

between travel and just like major projects I've been working on. But I also

thought about this concept that came to me about idea cycles. It's like a kind of

like idea feast or famine. There are some weeks where I will just be heads down

working on stuff and nothing will come to me. And then there will be days where

like I finally come up for air and like I feel like idea after idea after idea

is happening. And so you know like it's like idea cycle and work cycle or like I

said idea feast and idea famine. And right now I'm in an idea feast. I'm

trying out a bunch of stuff. I got a new camera that I'm playing with and I am

working on a bunch of new shortcuts. But one of them the main reasons I'm kind of

banging in here is I my friend Brian Richards has been sending me tik-tok

videos. I don't have tik-tok so he has been graciously sending them in a way

where I could view them without an account. But it's mostly of this one

creator who basically just does the same thing over and over and over again

hitting home the same message. And I forget if I talked about this here but

I've been thinking a lot about my persistent message and how it should be.

I have on a post-it note reduce friction to create space but it's actually more

about controlling or applying friction. So it could be reducing or adding

friction. And so each video approximately goes story about something where

friction helped. You know so reducing friction helped or applying friction

helped. I did this thing where I reduced or applied friction. What can you do to

reduce or apply friction? So if you're on my newsletter I strongly recommend it

casabona.org/join. I've been doing a lot of that. I talked about the torpedo bats

for the Yankees and kind of how they have reduced friction by creating better

bats. So like instead of having to change their swing very much or like

adhere to the current bat they designed a better bat. I talked about how

Ichiro Suzuki reduced the friction in getting to first base by becoming a

left-handed hitter even though he is naturally right-handed. Like he literally

took steps out of his process for him from getting from home to first. So I've

been thinking a lot about that lately. I feel really good about this messaging.

I've been really more active on LinkedIn and Instagram because of it. So we'll see

you know I'm I'm not a big social media person but I think this could be

beneficial and I'll be putting out a podcast episode soon on Streamline

Solopreneur about like how what video tools I'm using to make recording shorts

a lot easier. The second camera allows me to mix it up. I kind of have like three

different camera angles now for me. Well I have three primary camera angles

this new camera got the tail too. It's like there are infinitely many camera

angles but I have three primary camera angles now for me to record these videos

and so we'll see we'll see how it goes. I think I'm gonna give it the old college

try for a few months because I've made it so low effort. I've reduced the

friction in creating short form videos enough that I think it's worth it for me

to do it. So we'll see what happens but that's I've been thinking about a lot of

stuff so I suspect I'll be putting out a few more of these episodes over the next

week but that's a that's a big one. I think that needs to be my messaging

right like and I saw oh gosh I'm gonna mess up her name but I saw her post on

LinkedIn Amanda Northcoat I think that's right.

Sorry Amanda if you are somehow listening to this. You know she said like

a lot of people get stuck a lot of consultants a lot of coaches get stuck

at $10,000 a month because they're still selling the time and not

the transformation and I really think the transformation for me the

transformation that I need to sell needs to be a spacious life right that's what

Holly set up for me and how do we make the transformation happen? We

make that happen by reducing or applying friction. So I feel pretty good about

that. Yeah I'll probably have more thoughts on like how I'm creating the

videos and the newsletter and addenda you know I put out an episode this week

of the Streamline Solopreneur about my AI swipe file and I've already made

changes to it. I'm just doing a lot of tinkering lately and I need an outlet I

have like a backlog of tinker sharing so I suspect this will be the first place

I do it because it's the the easiest the the path of least resistance. So if you

have any questions you can head over to streamlinedfeedback.com. Thanks so much

for listening and until next time I hope you find some space in your week.
