So I have a full episode coming out about this next week but I leave for Disney on Sunday so the day after tomorrow as I record this and I'm not doing any work on the vacation I'm not I'm not even bringing my laptop I might bring my iPad and I'm bringing the brick so that I won't really be able to check email and so I did go through like a long in them in the main episode of streamlined solopreneur I go through kind of everything I did to prepare for leaving the office so I just want to it's um I'm almost at the end of my week here and I want to I had a big list on my board with the headline before Disney so all the stuff I had to do before Disney and so I want to run through it I wanted to make two RSS comm videos and four shorts which I did I wanted to record two solo episodes which I did I also recorded two interviews so I have a month's worth of content now the newsletter is the last thing that I'm gonna need to do before I go two videos I wrote that down that was a pipe dream I think but also I recorded one video and I shipped a big client project and so the last thing is automations I'm doing for another client and we and it is slightly frustrating and nobody's fault really except for like Google I would say but um you know we're trying to to get me authenticated for her Google account and it's because a lot of the automations are based on that and it's just been like an uphill battle so like I started this process on Monday and here we are on Friday and I'm still not like I was in yesterday for a moment but like trying to authenticate with Zapier is different and there's a bunch of things that need to happen and it's really annoying so you know I plan on working until about six o'clock today I will not be able to work at all tomorrow because it is my daughter's first Holy Communion and so we'll be doing that and then we're doing a party and so up until six is really the last time I'll be working and so I'd love to get some of these automations done and it's just like we keep miss or like ships passing in the night I guess but that's not that's not why I'm recording this I'm recording this because ultimately it's been a very successful week I don't feel except for this project I don't feel like I am leaving any open threads now the the big client project I shipped they're still technically in testing but I've been developing this for six weeks and and I've done a bunch of testing and so and they know I think the biggest thing is I've communicated to everybody that I'm gonna be out of office and unreachable so you know I don't feel like I'm leaving anybody hanging out to dry so I'm really excited about this I can't really even I mean I think it was I'm trying to figure out like how this was so much more successful than previous attempts at trying to get a bunch of work done and I think it's like we've known about this trip for months like since October I think is when we planned it and so I just kind of I knew for a long time to plan around this I knew from the very beginning I would maybe that's what it is right like in previous beach vacations I don't really like the beach and so I spend you know our youngest still naps and so I always volunteer to take her back to the house and nap and it's my preference to stay at the house in the afternoon and so like I guess I have mindset wise determined that you know well if I need to do some work at the beach I'll have some non family time where I can work and for this we're spending you know five days in Disney World I want to be fully present there's not gonna be any time for me to work so why even why even purport like there might be and so maybe it's a mindset thing like I was especially driven to get all of this work done because I knew I wouldn't be getting any of it done next week I'm not even gonna be checking email for the most part you know I might like check in here and there not at the parks not during business hours certainly but so so I think I just figured well you know I need to get all of this done I also arranged my deadlines so that I I also arranged my deadlines so that you know I would have these weeks off and I communicated it so I really think that's what it is I've done a good job of communicating and planning and my schedule allowed for getting all of this stuff done I guess the other thing is like I've I'm managing my time better and I was a lot more focused this week to get this stuff done so I guess it's a winning combination of a bunch of things because there's stuff on this list that like I didn't even have written down also that I got done so really proud I wish I could have more weeks like this CGP Grey talks about this like you can have a perfect week of work but you can't expect that you're always going to have a perfect week of work and so I'm gonna take the win I'm gonna enjoy the vacation and when I come back I'll probably be that will probably be an unproductive week I'm gonna have a lot of meetings that week I think because that usually happens yeah I have a bunch of meetings scheduled oh gosh and a root canal so lots of lots of stuff happening the week I get back so I'm gonna take this super productive week be very happy about it enjoy the vacation and then brace myself when I come back I guess
