I need to survey my audience. I need to understand why they joined the list and how I can best help them. Ultimately, my goal is, you know, to write better content on a weekly basis, but I need to start extracting money from my newsletter or from my mailing list. And I can't do that if I'm not creating products that they don't want.
And so I have a bunch of ideas, you know, an accountability course or just a self-paced course on automation. The vast majority of my clients are still coming to me for podcast help. And so another thing I kind of want to do is, you know, have some sort of olive branch course for them. I do have the sponsorship one. I probably need to re-record the How to Start podcast, but like from a systems perspective.
But ultimately, I first need to understand my audience. The first step in that, I think, is asking them what they're struggling most with or how I can best help them. I have like some semblance of a survey or even a single question that is, and I'm going to put this through AI when I'm done recording it, because I need to figure out kind of the best way to word these things, and I'm bad at that. But I think I want to ask like, you know, how, what do you need the most help with? Is ultimately what I'm driving at.
And it's, uh, building automations, putting a system in place for my solopreneur business, putting a system in place to make podcasting and content creation easier. And then I'd also put in probably grow and monetize my podcast, because I probably do still have a lot of people on my list from that. And then I would segment them separately and sell them on a thing, and then let them know, hey, I'm pretty much going to talk about systems and automation from here on out.
And I think that that would be very helpful to you. But it's not going to be about growing and monetizing. There are better people to talk about that. So that's kind of what I'm noodling on here. Ultimately, I like to learn more about them, uh, and see kind of who responds in certain ways, and like, this is, you know, I probably do this with ConvertKit polls or surveys or whatever they have, even though all their stuff is half-baked.
Uh, I, you know, I'll probably tag people appropriately, uh, and then like maybe, maybe if they choose a certain option, send them to an interest page or something like that. But I mean, the first step, I've gone on for too long without really truly understanding my customers. And I need to be better at that, because like, OK, my asynchronous coaching, I was on a call for founders like Founders with Kids by Sarah K. Peck.
And, sorry, I'm still getting over the flu. And I feel like I got way more out of that call than like any of my one-off questions via email. A lot of people on the call said, uh, that they're struggling with their tech stack, and this is something I am uniquely qualified to help people with, like, yeah, lots of people can help with with the tech stack, but I help busy solopreneur parents, and like, their tech stack is probably one of the last things they want to think about.
And tech stack is a term I never use, but if it's a term that so many of these people are using, maybe that is the term I should use, and maybe I need to update my on-demand coaching, and I think Cat and the Electric Sit, and you know, my mastermind group is right, that maybe it does need to be an accountability or a challenge or an accountability and a challenge, how are we solving our problem? I need to think more through that.
So, I'm thinking it's been a while since I've done this. It didn't start off as a Joe's audio note, it just started off as me word vomiting so I can feed it into AI and get a reasonable single question survey. But that's the stuff I'm thinking about.
The summer's starting, and I'll be at my desk class, which means I'm probably going to do these notes more. If you'll remember, this started, you might not remember, but this started in August when I was away from my desk a lot. And then I feel like it picked up in December, January when I was away from my desk a lot. And so it will continue here.
All right. Well, if you have thoughts about this, you can write into the show at streamlinedfeedback.com. You can also head over to notes.cassabona.org to join the mailing list to get notified when these episodes go out. Thanks so much for listening, and I'll see you soon.
