I started writing my next book. I wrote about this on my blog and in my newsletter but I wanted to expand a bit more on the the way that I used Claude. So again I like I'm not gonna rehash the newsletter you can read that or go to casabona.org and read that but I'm really excited because every book I've written before this has been about like technical books and I generally worked with an editor on fleshing out the the target audience and things like that and you know I don't know I I probably will self-publish you know I'd like to go with a publisher but I think this will be tougher it's more niche and there really are a lot of benefits to self-publishing and you know my my friends at Lulu will definitely help me with that but I definitely want to be more intentional this time I think every every book I've written before this or every book idea has just been oh it'll just be like a guide on how to do this and it's like the the book could probably just be like a video and so what I did was I created a project in Claude again I share almost the entire prompt in the blog post in the newsletter but I also provided it with all of my my notes and highlights from the book right useful books by Rob Fitzpatrick a really good and helpful book and the crucial part of the prompt was basically me telling it to not just blindly agree with me I said I'd like you to approach this from a coach or editor point of view where you're not just agreeing with me question me present different points of view and try to poke holes and or add to what I've put you don't have to do this endlessly I fear we'd be stuck in a feedback loop for eternity maybe three to four volleys before moving on I added that later because the pushback was getting to be a lot and so first I said I provided highlights from the book right useful books I'd like to you to use this to help flesh out my goals and target audience please generate pointed questions for me to answer about the book then we can refine them so it says like based on your intro and insights it came up with 11 questions for me to answer and then saying like this will help you define the crucial scope equation that Fitzpatrick defines in the book promise reader profile who's not who it's not for and what it won't cover I answered the questions and then this is when I said like okay poke holes in it right and it did a really good job you know you say this what do you mean or what if this is that you know you say revenue but like what do you mean revenue what how about if they're serious text you say tech savvy but what so it's asking me a lot of hey you said this but like that's super unclear and so I instead of like typing out answers I started dictating to it which was great and so I talked to it for like five minutes or so and then it did it again okay like you keep saying this but what do you mean this maybe the criteria is not revenue but it's maturity your competitive advantage like this is good but what about that I see these challenges and we go back and forth a while three or four times where it asks me a bunch of questions and then I just kind of word vomit at it and then we finally get to a I said like okay like I think we're getting to a good point where you know I I think we're getting to a good point where you can stop pushing back and he was like hold on hold on like he it you're brushing off this one really important problem and I said okay all right I got it so we go back and forth it looks like five times and the final test was like complete this sentence and then it made tweaks to the sentence asked me one more question after all of this back and forth what's the one thing you're most excited to write about and what's the one thing you're most worried about and I answered it it came up with a good framework and then it asked me like hey what what was this transformational moment for you and then it came up with like a again if a more fleshed out framework and it's I think it's really good and I'm really excited about it so the final results which if you go to Joe dot Casa Bona org slash book you can sign up and get access to this exact conversation that I'm reading from as well as the intro to the book but it said hey your real audience is solopreneur parents who feel trapped by their business your real promise is confidence to step away without everything falling apart your differentiators teaching the mindset not just the mechanics your opening story is the panic attack that led to the transformation and your success metric it says here readers who can confidently turn off their phone during family time I've changed this to readers who can confidently go on a family vacation without checking email and you've moved from how to build systems to how to build confidence through systems I think like this framework really works well and I'm really excited so I plan on building this in public I'm really glad I started on this because now I'm just kind of like ruminating on it a little bit and I'm going to craft and commerce next week and I have to finish a LinkedIn learning course but I'm glad I was able to do this with some downtime on Monday my kids were home and my wife worked and so talking to Claude was about as much work as I could do and I think it worked out really well I'm I'm finding really good ways to use AI that don't feel like it's replacing me in the process because I'm really against that and and I I feel like I'm I'm finally able to leverage it in like a good ethical way which is something I've always been concerned about so that's what I'm thinking if you want the access to the cloud conversation go to Joe dot Casa Bona org slash book and sign up it's just literally just a form and if you have any questions or feedback you can write in over at streamlined feedback calm thanks so much for listening see you next time
